Trainee Recruitment Consultant - Medical recruitment. The company is a specialist medical recruitment agency based in Birmingham city centre. They place doctors, nurses and other specialist medical staff into hospital, general practice and private health settings across the UK. The Agency is a key partner to the NHS and is regulated by the Commission for Quality Care.

This is a rare opportunity to be trained by, and work with, the best talent in the recruitment industry. We are seeking committed Trainee Recruitment Consultants who are prepared to work hard to learn the ropes in recruitment, and due course earn a stake in a growing recruitment agency.

Salary / Commission / Benefits:

  • Starting salary in the range £18,000-£20,000 (dependent on experience).
  • Uncapped commission / bonus plan providing realistic first year On Target Earnings of £35,000, rising to £50,000+ in year 2.

Person specification

  • You will be of "graduate calibre" and will have experience in a sales based role (ideally 12 months+) with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
  • You will motivated and "goal-driven" and determined to use your sales experience to secure a long-term career as a specialist Recruitment Consultant.
  • You do not need any medical knowledge. However, having a curious nature along with any interest / enthusiasm for the healthcare sector will help you learn the jargon etc….
  • You will have good communication skills and be capable of engaging credibly and enthusiastically with nurses, doctors, healthcare managers etc…

The role:

  • The business is experiencing and unprecedented demand for its services, so after your training period you will be given a "warm desk" with vacancies to work on from day one.
  • You will be building a network of locum healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses etc…) and briefing them on a variety of vacancies that you are working on.
  • You will place them in temporary roles and complete the associated compliance - setting them up on the online timesheet system, providing reference and qualification information the NHS and other clients.
  • The role is predominantly office based (Birmingham City Centre) and conducted over the telephone but as you become more experienced you will have the opportunity to meet your clients and candidates.
