Description

The company is a global recruitment business, dominant in providing Power / Oil & Gas technical recruitment globally. They employ over 500 Recruitment Consultants across an international network of 20 offices in the UK, US, Far East and Australia. An exciting opportunity now exists for a Business Development Manager based in Manchester covering their Power client base in the North and Midlands.
The role will combine account management of a number of key clients along with a business development remit including winning new business, tendering / bids and penetrating / development of existing business / historic accounts.
 
The package:
  • Basic Salary in the range £28,000-£35,000 dependent on experience.
  • Monthly commission providing first year OTE £40,000 - £50,000; then subsequent rises in basic and bonus.
  • Flexible benefits package including Company Car or Car allowance, laptop, phone heath care, pension and share scheme.
 
The role
  • Account Managing a number of “Power” accounts (generating companies, transmission companies, contractors, engineering / design consultancies etc…)
  • Working with the recruitment consultants to develop “spot business” into regular customers.
  • Formalising relationships with clients via Service Level Agreements, Preferred Supplier arrangement etc…
  • Tendering / bidding for business.
  • Acting as a bridge between the clients (externally) and the recruitment consultants and delivery consultants (internally)
  • Identifying opportunities to cross-sell / cross-pollinate across locations and business units.
  • Attending client meetings to take requirement and agree / monitor service levels.
  • Organise client events or undertake client entertaining to enhance relationships.
  • Monitor key statistics on an on-going basis, including revenue / deals and SLA delivery to ensure delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure repeat business is won through effective client meetings and expectation management.
 
Knowledge & Skills required
  • The role would suit either an existing Business Development Manager or an Account Manager or Senior Recruitment Consultant who is “client facing” with a track record of winning accounts.
  • Applications will also be considered from Field Sales / Business Development professionals who do not work in recruitment but who are interested in this career path – in which case you will have experience of selling Power or Engineering related services.
  • Able to demonstrate success in winning new accounts and developing existing accounts.
