Description

My client is a multi-award winning, expanding international recruitment business which posted a profit in excess of £20M last year. The UK public sector division has always been a particularly strong part of the UK business (30%+ of revenue).

The company has a specialist NHS division with teams across a UK network of 12 offices. Individual teams exist specialising in placing into the NHS across the following specialisms – Clinical Recruitment / IT / Information Management / Project Management / Human Resources / Organisational Development / Medical Staffing / Business Management and Accountancy.

The company supplies contract / interim and permanent staff into the NHS via Government Procurement Service / Buying Solutions framework agreements, along with providing staff to a number of 3rd party / consultancy routes.

An Opportunity now exist for a business development manager to take a strategic role in developing new NHS accounts along with account managing some of the bigger existing relationships.

The package:

  • Basic Salary in the range £35,000-£50,000 dependent on experience.
  • Generous bonus structure providing on target earnings of double basic salary (i.e. £70,000-£100,000 depending on the level of appointment)

The role

  • Account Management several of the organisation’s key NHS Recruitment accounts.
  • Identifying opportunities to cross-sell / cross-pollinate across NHS Trusts / Health Authorities.
  • Attending client meetings to take requirements. The role has a UK remit so while you can be based anywhere in the UK you will be prepared to travel as necessary with occasional overnight stays as required.
  • Working with the recruitment consultants to develop “spot business” into repeat accounts.
  • Being responsible for maintaining the company’s supplier status via framework agreements with any associated tendering / bidding.
  • Acting as a bridge between the NHS clients (externally) and the recruitment consultants and delivery consultants (internally)
  • Organise client events or undertake client entertaining to enhance relationships.
  • Monitor key statistics on an on-going basis, including revenue / deals and SLA delivery to ensure delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Coaching and Developing Recruitment Consultants in their client relationship / client meeting abilities.

Knowledge & Skills required

  • The role would suit either an existing Business Development Manager or an Account Manager or Senior Recruitment Consultant who is “client facing” with a track record of winning and sustaining NHS accounts.
  • Must have Recruitment experience from working in a Recruitment Agency supplying specialist staff into the NHS.
  • Able to demonstrate success in winning new accounts and developing existing accounts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and detailed knowledge of the ongoing changes within the NHS. Ability to converse credibly and discuss the NHS agenda with stakeholders at a senior level.
